Amazing DIY fashion for pennies!

This book is stuffed full of fantastic ideas to re-invent your wardrobe, either salvaging those clothes forgotten in the back of your closet or buying clothing and other textiles second hand. The best part is that these projects are all so simple, yet so inventive, and anyone with a sewing machine can do them.
Besides the many projects to dress you from head to foot (all that's missing are underwear and bras, although there are two tutorials on how to refashion men's wool long underwear!), there are lots of useful tips on how to successfully dye or bleach fabric and a tutorial on how to make your own dress form exactly your own size, an essential tool for those who sew clothing but don't want to break the bank for an anonymous dress form that's not really your size.
Sheri, as you can read in her blog, has a very particular and funny writing style, so I was constantly laughing while reading this book. But, all fun aside, her style is very personal and clear, clearly reflecting her communicative character. The explanations are clear and detailed, making them very easy to follow.
One of the reasons I love refashioning is that you can never repeat the same project twice in exactly the same way because your materials will always be different. You need a lot of creativity, even when following another person's tutorial. Sheri takes this into consideration and often gives ideas for variations on the projects. I just love how this book sparks my creativity and gives me loads of new ideas each time I look at it. I've had the spiral bound version for nearly a year and now the Kindle version, and I still can't put this book down! If you're a Refashionista or want to give it a try, you NEED to get this book!

A small encyclopedia of sewing-refashion!

I had liked the first version, but this last is really a small encyclopedia of sewing-refashion!
It's Light-to-read, full of colorful and detailed images that make each project simple and inviting; cured in the graphics clear and appealing, and with so many little tricks and tips enclosed in boxes to capture the attention. Projects ranging from the simplest accessory to the more particularly and finished (like the blouse with ruffles on the neckline and sleeves that is my favorite!)
For the type of materials used and the techniques - always explained in detail and made simple by the master experience of Sheri - I find it more advanced than the first version, suitable to satisfy even the "most demanding palate" of those who are no longer at novice with the sewing machine and the refashion. A must have in our craftroom!

Ingenious!

I followed this writer's blog and had been dying to get a copy. I was lucky enough to have bought my copy from her a few months ago and I am IN LOVE with it! I cannot wait to tell everyone I know they can now get the book without international shipping to worry about!
The book has a fantastic collection of how to update your wardrobe or just add some life to your personal style. Quick, simple and easy to follow the book has come in handy all over the house!
Highly recommend!!
