"Tommy's Honor" is a great read for the golfer or non-golfing history buff. The research is extraordinary and gives the reader an indepth look at this one slice of the pie of a very specific period in the history of golf and those who shaped the game. The book's insights into the game will be of great interest to the golfer. The narrative---Tommy's story is a great story and a great story told extremely well by the author!-- will be interesting to anyone who enjoys historical biography. This is a serious book yet easy to read. The story is one of triumph, wit and tragedy. A good history book will always generate in the reader's mind parallels to contemporary events. "Tommy's Honor" certainly does. I found that the book underscores the pretension and enforcement of class superiority that exists at most golfing clubs still today.....how club patrons perceive, disregard or denigrate the roles of "subservient" club employees while it is these same professional employees and NOT the patrons who in reality maintain and add to the history and integrity and development of the game; unsung heroes. "Tommy's Honor" is an awesome read. It's one of those books added to my bookcase and not passed on to someone else. It's a keeper!

Early golf history comes to life!

If you're a golf history nut, or just interested in late 1800's-early 1900's, you'll love this book. If you just like to know more about the great game of golf, this is your book. Kevin Cook brings the world of St. Andrews and Scotland to life. You can just about smell the oil lamps burning on the streets or the low tide blowing in from the North Sea. Oh, and the history of Tom Morris and his son, Tommy, is just amazing. I felt like I was reading a novel but is was true! If you love golf or know someone that loves the game you must get this book. It's a classic.

Therefore, this book provides practitioners with a new and superior scientific framework for investment decision-making, while aiming to stimulate further research and development. Moreover, the book provides scientific approaches for portfolio selection with Goal Programming, which will provide added value for practitioners in complementing their financial expertise with a sound scientific decision-making framework.

About the Author
After working for her father s family office while also teaching at her alma mater, the University of Alexandria, after coming top of her class in Business Administration with a specialism in Finance, Dr. Rania Ahmed Azmi was noticed by organisations including the International Finance Corporation, which certified her to train small and medium-sized businesses on finance and investment, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. From here, she followed in the footsteps of Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair in the IV Leadership Programme, which took her all over the world. She received her PhD in Financial Mathematics and she was featured in the 40 under 40 asset owners in the aiCIO magazine in 2013. She was also a keynote speaker at the CERN laboratories pension risk and investment summit last year. When not advising on investment, Azmi is a keen activist for women s position in business, politics, and society, where she has spoken for the World Bank in gender and economics and soon after was awarded the Google Prize for Most Interesting and Creative Work and was designated a Woman of Influence globally by the Women Speakers Association.

Love Peter Reynolds

We own almost every Peter Reynolds book there is and have given many as gifts. His illustrations are always so whimsical but definitely convey a great message and his story is always simple, but to the point. I bought this for our teenager who had a rather "hum bug" attitude about this past Holiday Season, but then commented that the "Christmas Angel" (aka mom) had been rather uncreative in her little gifts leading up to the big day. While the Christmas Angel explained that creativity is tied to enthusiasm, "The Smallest Gift of Christmas" got to the point.

Lessons and Imagination

Selfish Roland is very disappointed that his Christmas present is so small. He hoped and wished for a larger gift and when he received that, he wanted something bigger and bigger. There was just no satisfying this child. That is until he realizes what is important and suddenly appreciates that the best gifts come in small packages.

This Christmas story might help young ones see that it is not about the size of the gift, but about home and family.

After the first reading, and you know a child wants the same story over and over, cover up the words and let your young one tell you the story they see. The simple illustrations, and I am not disparaging – some books are way over the top, are great springboards for a child’s imagination.

Beautiful Book Shares a Wonderful Message to Keep in Mind at the Holidays

I love this unique and heartfelt Christmas story! At the holidays, it's all too easy to get caught up in the frenzy of shopping for the perfect gift, thinking about the gifts you want, and so forth. I won't give the end of the story away, but this book is a sweet reminder to look past the materialistic side of the holidays and remember what really matters. As with his other books, Peter H. Reynolds' exquisite illustrations add magic to the story — they range from charmingly playful to absolutely heartwarming. I can't say enough good things... Just put it under your tree this year and spread the joy!
