About the Author
Dr. Basko has lectured nationally and in Canada, Japan, and New Zealand to veterinarians and animal lovers. Topics include acupuncture, herbal medicine, homeopathy, laser acupuncture therapy, trigger point therapy, nutritional therapy and the use of supplements in dogs, cats, and horses.
He has co-authored Veterinary Acupuncture: Ancient Art to Modern Medicine, and Healing Your Horse: Alternative Therapies. He has written numerous articles in journals including: American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association, Veterinary Botanical Veterinary Association, International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, The Whole Dog Journal, The Whole Horse Journal and The Journal of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine.
His radio show Pets, People and Paradise has been on the air for more than ten years on KHVH Honolulu, and KKCR FM on Kauai, Hawai'i. Dr. Basko lives on the islands of Kaua'i and the Big Island with his pets and wife Jane.

An Amazing Resourse

This is a great book filled with recipies and information that is hard to get let alone all in one place. My dog with heart disease is doing very well on his new diet and I'm understanding how to use food as medicine and help him through his diet. My regular vet has never discussed any of these things with me and I am guessing she doesn't have this information. The only advice I got from the cardiologist is "restrict salt" and if you read the labels on the dog food and biscuits, that is almost impossible to do with commercial dog food.
